<a name='more'></a>January generally sucks quite honestly, doesn't it. This year I decided to plan an escape from the January blues and give myself something to look forward to to get me through the month. It really worked FYI. I also sat an exam a few days before flying so this trip was a nice little post exam pick-me-up.</div>

So Copenhagen, what's good?</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
We stayed in a really central hotel and there are loads to choose from to ensure you're in walking distance of most of the things you would want to visit and see.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One of the top things you'll usually see listed on any Copenhagen article or blog post is Tivoli and I wish I could say we went but, unfortunately, the gardens and park are closed during winter so we couldn't go in and experience the magic. We got the teeniest glimpse inside the gate on the way back to the train station at the end of the trip as there was a show on in the theatre so the gates were open and obvs I had a little peak. What I did see got me excited to go back during peak season so I can see what all the fuss is about first hand.<br />
<br />
One of the biggest draws is, of course, <b>pastry</b>. I mean, could you really go to Denmark and not have a Danish pastry or 10? I set myself the challenge of eating as many different types of pastry/confectionery on offer at the various patisseries across the city as I possibly could. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks... it didn't matter what the time of day, I was down for the danish pastry.<br />

I managed to cram quite a few into the 2 and a half days we were there and even got in a stop at La Glace which was a big tick. La Glace is fancy. Picture the most traditional tea rooms you can, this is the Danish equivalent and with that territory comes a price tag, but it was worth the very expensive breakfast on our last day to be able to say I've been there.<br />

Condittori La Glace is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, rooms of it's type in CPH and its not hard to see why it's survived since opening in 1870. La Glace is famously known for sports cake, which from what I gather is lots of cream and pastry with a macaron base and some nougat. I was set on trying it when we went but somehow it completely flew out of my head while I was there and it wasn't until we left that I remembered it.<br />
<b><u>Top tip:</u></b> Order sports cake in La Glace and let me know what it's like. Ta.<br />

There are so many things to see in and around this city. The plan was to hire some bikes and cycle to all the great spots dotted here, there and everywhere but much to my disappointment the city bikes were out of order the whole time we were there so we had to revert to good old fashioned walking, which meant a lot more time out in the cold and less time in bars and cafes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Anyhow, we still managed to fit loads in including the little mermaid, the Carlsberg gate, the Cisterns (bear in mind they're closed out of season) and Christiania, as well as all of the more central things.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Christiania, or the city in a city, is well worth a visit, even if it's just to get you over the river and out of the most touristy areas of the city such as the shopping streets. The objective of it's residents is to create/maintain a self-governing community so it's really interesting to walk around. There is some great artwork to see in this little freetown as well as a skatepark and a couple of cafes/bars. It's pretty much an alcohol free zone though with weed being the poison of choice as Christiania has been a cannibis trade centre for a few decades, hence the no photos rule because it's not technically legal in Denmark, although has been overlooked by police in this commune for some time. There are a number of stalls dotted about selling to tourists and locals alike but saying that, if you're not into smoking, it's still worth a visit just to experience the place. Quite honestly, I found it a little intimidating as I didn't expect to see so many residents in balaclavas although there didn't seem to be any ill feeling towards tourists wandering around so don't let this put you off going. If you know what to expect, it won't be an intimidating experience.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next on the whitsle stop tour of Kobenhavn is the Observatory. This is kind of tucked off of one of the main shopping streets but at only 25KR entry (about £2.50) its well worth a visit.<br />

The climb to the top is actually pretty easy going due to it being a slope instead of steps. Apparently this was so that the King could ride his horse to the top of the tower - learn something new everyday.<br />

If you head down to see the little mermaid, make sure you stop off to see the changing of the guard at Amalienborg Palace (at midday). The guard will march from Rosenberg Castle to the Palace through the streets of Copenhagen even stopping at traffic lights. Once changed the off duty guard will do the same back to Rosenberg. From Amalienborg head to the waterfront which is literally over a small road and walk along here instead of the streets to get to the little mermaid - you'll get to see the opera house, some art installations and the more industrial side of the city across the water.</div>

We actually paid a visit to the Botanical Gardens on our last day as well as checking out Torvehallerne Market which I think may have been one of my favourite parts of the city. Essentially it's a glass house with permanent market shops, cafes, food stalls and bars inside. At night it's all lit up and was heaving so was clearly a popular place for an evening drink and bite to eat.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Botanical gardens aren't usually our thing frankly but these are a free attraction and were a welcome break from the bitterly cold wind. We actually ended up really enjoying it despite feeling very old in admitting that! The glasshouse dates back to 1874 and is pretty extensive considering it's nestled away in the middle of the city.</div>

Of course, we paid our customary visit to Hard Rock cafe and had heard a lot about some great burger joints and bars so tried to hunt some of these down, without any real success in all honesty. We found a few of the bars we'd heard about beforehand such as the Bird and Churchkey which is a gin and craft beer bar and is really cool. I'm not known to be a gin lover but this place was beyond good with over 80 different types of gin and is well worth a visit if you're in the Gammel Strand area.</div>

Cafe Norden is also good for a coffee or lunch with it's 1920's decor and great view of Amager square. There are so many bars that looked amazing and we either didn't find or ran out of time to see so I'm determined to go back and try a few more out.</div>

It was a very chilly month to visit the Danish capital but it was great to see a new city and I would definitely go back in Spring or Summer to explore some of the things we weren't able to see this time around.<br />
Now I'm on countdown to the next trip... USA ROADTRIP, I'm ready for you!!!<br />

<div style="position: relative;">
January was a chilly month wasn't it! February is set to be just as cold, if not colder, than January so its likely that I'll end up doing plenty of online shopping while I'm keeping cosy at home because, well that's just how it goes.<br />
<br />

<span style="text-align: start;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: start;">I had some decent uni results last week, as well as some work wins and got (yet another) exam out of the way so I think a few treats are in order to celebrate...</span><br />
<span style="text-align: start;">The majority of my current lusts are beauty products as I seem to have done an about turn in my product preferences and moved fully to the beauty side from fashion in recent months. I'm actually missing working in beauty retail (which is something I never thought I'd say!) and just want to try everything and anything going. Well maybe not anything but you get the gist. Foundation is a big one for me at the minute and unfortunately there aren't any CT or Illamasqua counters or stores anywhere near me so I'm reluctant to actually purchase these online having not been able to test the colour on me first, but who knows where my winter splurge will take me!</span><br />
<span style="text-align: start;">Andy and I just booked a trip to the US for spring and I'm beyond excited for my first long haul adventure! With that in mind, I've decided it's time to invest in some decent sunnies and what better way to do it than with Saint Laurent.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: start;">All in all, it's a pricey list to come back with but I'm of the 'work hard spend hard' mindset (for now!).</span><br />
<span style="text-align: start;">What have you got your eye on this month?</span><br />

Antwerp, Brussels, Bruges, move over!<br />
<a href="https://draft.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided to take my mum on a little trip to the continent for her birthday this year and having seen many a pretty photo of Ghent I decided it was time to get up close and personal with the Guardian's top 10 alternative city break destination.<br />
Ghent's actually a lot bigger than I was expecting and definitely bigger than the more popular, or more commonly visited, city of Bruges, which means its ideal for a two day trip. We had the best weather on Sunday and, after arriving at about 9:30am, spent hours wandering around and taking in some of the cities sights. It turns out that a number of the streets play host to a market/street boot fair on Sundays so we took a look at some of the tat and treasure on offer, turns out treasure at those markets was like the ultimate vintage haven with fur coats, vintage leather satchels and stag heads galore!<br />
There are tonnes of pretty squares in Ghent, one of which just happens to have a castle. Not exactly where you expect to see a castle but pretty impressive.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoozzb59RD6c2oG4AplLw55ioRwNhKcAX99oGaKomPQpWdgb7ItP6STEONoLn3oAbEojIUt7i8_K1uLV6UNpeZUULERTCtVM-gsRbqKGKF7JJtbp9UdPr548z0xQEzmxWCv7H2db3PhLzy/s1600/IMG_3351%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoozzb59RD6c2oG4AplLw55ioRwNhKcAX99oGaKomPQpWdgb7ItP6STEONoLn3oAbEojIUt7i8_K1uLV6UNpeZUULERTCtVM-gsRbqKGKF7JJtbp9UdPr548z0xQEzmxWCv7H2db3PhLzy/s1600/IMG_3351%255B1%255D.JPG" /></a></div>
The one thing I will say about Ghent is that food is pricey! I've been to Venice, Reykjavik and Dublin in the last year or so which I was told to expect to be expensive to eat and drink out but never found any of them to be more than UK prices, Ghent however is probably the priciest place for food I've been to to date. You're looking at about 20 euros for a lasagne and that's without drinks.<br />
Needless to say there are cheaper options around and obviously restaurants away from the tourist squares are always a better deal.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

Food aside, entrance to some of the cities attractions is averagely priced and there are quite a few places to visit such as Castle of the Counts, the Belfry, the cathedral, Rabot and loads of grand churches and abbeys. The great thing about Ghent is that you don't really have to look very hard for these sights as just wondering around you'll stumble upon them quite easily.<br />

We were lucky that on the first evening there was a bit of a street festival on between Oudburg and Sleepstraat. This street is often referred to as the more colourful side of the city and features a plethora of exotic restaurants, which seem to be cheaper than those in the squares. The street was filled with good music, headed up by a dj in a burnt out caravan, and loads of pop up cocktail bars with cocktails on sale at about 4 euros a go. We grabbed a few of these and took them down to the canal to drink on the waters edge to catch the last few rays of sunshine.<br />

Essentially we spent two days eating waffles and exploring this pretty city and discovering some of it's lesser known gems, which is far from the worst way to spend a weekend!<br />
Ghent is great when you can be outdoors drinking Belgian beer so it makes for a great a summer break but it would be equally as good to see all that stunning architecture lit up with the glow of Christmas market lights, so basically I would go anytime of year.<br />
A lot of close-to-home city breaks often become a 'got the tshirt' kind of place that you never go back to once you've ticked it off. Not Ghent. It's on the Guardian's top 10 list for good reason and I, for one, will definitely be going back asap.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Last year for my birthday I was treated to a hot air balloon voucher with Virgin, I know, lucky right!<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I think I mentioned in my Bath post that we originally went to Bath to do the hot air balloon ride but unfortunately it was cancelled due to forecast rain - it never did rain so that was a major let down but when your flight gets cancelled your vouchers are reissued online up to 9 times so we had the chance to rebook. Problem was the voucher was due to expire in March 2016 so I knew we had to get the flight in asap rocky or else we would lose the voucher as, lets be honest, flying in October is not going happen given the likely weather and the flights seem to be less frequent in the winter months anyway, which makes sense, given the short days and terrible weather.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On a Friday morning towards the end of August we saw that the weather for the following day was going to be dry and sunny so decided to try and book a last minute flight close to home and we actually got lucky! There was one flight spot in Berkhamsted with 2 spaces left and as it's only a 2 hour drive from home we booked in last minute and set off at 3:30am to make it there for the flight. What's an early start when you're flying in a hot air balloon?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Arriving at a dewy rugby ground at 5:30am we helped the crew set up the balloon (I watched actually) ready for the flight which was scheduled to last around an hour.</div>

It was such a calm day so there was little wind to take us anywhere at first, which I was quite glad of as it meant we had to go higher to catch a current. The higher the better I say, plus it gave us the opportunity to properly watch the sunrise.</div>

We were technically flying in Luton Airport's air space but it was so early that it wasn't an issue and they must get it all the time as there are quite a few launch sites in that area; we saw three other hot air balloons while we were up there.</div>

We travelled 13 miles on our flight, saw stately homes and gorgeous countryside, went just under 2000ft high and then landed in some unsuspecting farmers field where we packed up the balloon and had champagne and a chat before setting off back to the original launch site in a mini bus. It was all so chilled out and therapeutic and considering you can get the virgin experience days on Groupon now for a fraction of the price, it's well worth the money and makes a great gift.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you're not scared of heights, I would definitely recommend adding this experience to your bucket list. Watching the world from a basket in the sky... hands down, best experience ever.</div>

I finally gave in to the 80's kid in me.<br />

<br />
<a name='more'></a>I'm chuffed that the bomber jacket is well and truly back because, having been born at the very very end of the 80's, I'm a sucker for all things 80's fashion and have been waiting to get my hands on a black bomber jacket for aaages. <br />
<br />
This one from Topshop was a little deceiving. I know they did a black version and then brought out a 'true black' version which actually had a slight purple hue in some lights and I knew I did not want any kind of purple happening so resigned myself to not getting one of theirs and keeping an eye out in other stores. However, I got sucked in when I saw it as I thought it was the original black version and, with my judgement clouded by sheer excitement, bought it instantly without checking. Turns out it's the true black version but despite all of the online reviews harping on about this awful, vile purple tinge, its really very black and only the slightest purple-ish tone in certain lights which is rare anyway.<br />

So I got really hooked on Love Island this year on ITV, which I have to say is not my usual TV pick. Turns out all I got from it was major bikini (and bikini body) envy and found myself spending every evening shopping for swimwear while they all pranced around on screen.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir2P0osSHXyaabD345kFivRvGqbgIy_dxUnpHEfaBeffkSO68Gfb1toq29PxNOS-mY3ZHvYGdIcLK67dwgqHyGdLo9jPlAiNeOpOsY2OfHxx8SUyAzhL2ZKVlq548oFvW9H9UnJaFvTnxL/s1600/IMG_3373%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir2P0osSHXyaabD345kFivRvGqbgIy_dxUnpHEfaBeffkSO68Gfb1toq29PxNOS-mY3ZHvYGdIcLK67dwgqHyGdLo9jPlAiNeOpOsY2OfHxx8SUyAzhL2ZKVlq548oFvW9H9UnJaFvTnxL/s1600/IMG_3373%255B1%255D.JPG" /></a></div>
With no beach holiday on the horizon, the majority, no lets be honest about this, ALL of the swimsuits and bikinis went firmly un-bought but there was one set I just could not let escape a slot in the wardrobe. This falls into the beachwear category so there's no jumping in the pool in this but it will be ideal for a trip to, let's say, Ibiza, which I'm hopeful will be happening next year. The great thing about this set, apart from the brilliant colours, is that it works as separates too and was in the asos sale for just £18 total, really can't go wrong!<br />

It's birthday month, boooo! I'm really not looking forward to it this time around. Birthdays are awkward at the best of times but this year I'm just not feeling it and I wish cancelling was actually an option. Nevermind the fact that I'll be entering my last year of the mid-20's!!<br />
I put together a list of things I've been hankering after for a while, some old, some new, which I aim to get myself over the next few months to celebrate little wins here and there, such as a treat when uni starts up again or when my next work placement starts.<br />
Ah yeah, my next work placement starts in October! I'm really excited for the next instalment of my HR career- culture change and learning and development come at me! Having done a spot of teaching in the past this shouldn't be tooooo daunting but you never know, fingers crossed!<br />
<br />
I'm feeling particularly spendy at the moment so it was dangerous putting the list together. I think perhaps a hugeee online spree is in order to get it out of my system? Probably. The superstars and plenty of v-neck cami style items will be first on the hit list. Oh and the Givenchy Dahlia Divin is absolutely goooorgeous and I need it in my life!<br />

Towards the end of June, Glastonbury weekend to be exact, Andy and I took a trip down to Bath for the weekend. The plan was to do a hot air balloon ride on the Friday morning, taking off from Victoria Park, as flying from Bath means your in with a pretty good chance of seeing Stonehenge, Salisbury Plain and, of course, Glastonbury festival all from above. I have to say though, the Glastonbury bit was actually completely by accident but would have been a massive bonus to have seen/heard the festival from a hot air balloon!<br />
<div>
Anyway we booked up Bath for a night so we could see a city we haven't been to on top of the balloon flight but it turns out balloon flights are really hit and miss and it was cancelled a few hours beforehand. We went to Bath regardless and did a bit of sight seeing as well as stopping off at some top tourists spots on the way home.</div>

I've vowed to see as many cities in Europe as I possibly can in a short a space of time as possible and for someone who never holidayed outside of the UK up until a couple of years ago, I've managed to make a pretty good start on the list. Two more trips coming up for Summer and I reckon I'll be justified in buying one of those giant cork board maps to document all the places I've been to so far. Next trip is in 21 days and I can't wait to take looooads of polaroids to add to my collection.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
AH it's been a rough few weeks. I've been suffering with headaches for over 8weeks and they prevent me from doing, well pretty much everything, particularly exercise as they're triggered by movement. Imagine a mild migraine around 10 times a day, bleurgh. So I'm wallowing a fair bit and seriously feeling the effects of not being able to go out for a run or get stuck into my Charlotte G-Shore workout DVD, yeah that's right, I bought it!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm on some medication for the headaches which have turned me into a bit of a zombie and, as with most medication, I can't drink on them so I've become a bit of a recluse. Oh, and my hair is falling out as a lovely little side effect.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So all in all it's not shaping up to be the greatest start to summer my end so far. Hopefully this gorgeous weather lasts for a bit longer so I can get out in it and make up for lost time once I'm sorted.<br />
But what better way to brighten all that rubbish than with a bit of online summer clothes shopping!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I've booked a couple of trips away for the end of the summer in the hope that'll I'll be fixed and need to get some summery clothes to take away with me - I can't tell you where I'm going because they're both surprise trips and I wouldn't want to ruin it.<br />
<br />
I've been in need of black sandals for such a long time and this New Look pair are exactly what I'm after. The button down denim skirt is a summer must have this year and the white midi skirt is something I have actually just purchased while doing this wish list for my two upcoming trips - fingers crossed it fits!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope you've all been enjoying the sun and have lots of exciting things to do over the summer!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
I really do love living in the countryside when it gets to this time of year.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
While out on a walk today I stumbled upon a poppy field which appeared out of nowhere and flooded this little patch of the countryside in red. It was quite unexpected and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a few snaps, and get some outfit photos while I was at it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoHlXy63mOfPKeWAcT58eZoXa2hyphenhyphen954qt7eB31uyKjYjCNGvI_DIGlYrHQzmuLJpqQp4PyTfbOur70z44sq6xa4e4nzU3qBvSCwp_RaPaNfgIkz7BxMHv1Pgksmzpak0A5KlkpmP3sVlms/s1600/IMG_3112%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoHlXy63mOfPKeWAcT58eZoXa2hyphenhyphen954qt7eB31uyKjYjCNGvI_DIGlYrHQzmuLJpqQp4PyTfbOur70z44sq6xa4e4nzU3qBvSCwp_RaPaNfgIkz7BxMHv1Pgksmzpak0A5KlkpmP3sVlms/s1600/IMG_3112%255B1%255D.JPG" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This little sundress came from H&M and was an absolute barg at only £7! They've had quite a few seasonal offers just lately and a lot of their dresses were reduced so I picked up this and another geometric monochrome dress in a slimmer, button down style.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm obsessed with monochrome and my entire wardrobe is black, white or stripes at the moment so this fits right in.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With a bit of a breeze today, I paired it with a long sleeved ribbed top to take the edge off the wind, but it will also be perfect for hot holidays without anything underneath or even as beachwear over a bikini.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Every now and then I indulge in getting semi-permanent lashes. My friend is a beautician and she does beauty treatments at home at a much cheaper rate than salons so I get cluster lashes done when I go away for a weekend or if I've got a lot of early starts coming up so that I don't have to take make-up in hand luggage or get up extra early to put make-up on. No mascara, no fiddling around with strip lashes, they're a<span style="font-size: large; font-weight: bold;"> dream</span>.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The only problem is that, when they come off, I'm left with very brittle, broken and gappy lashes that are impossible to do anything with as they just stick straight and look very worse for wear. This is partly my own fault as I have been known to pick at them when they start coming out rather than using the proper remover to dissolve the glue. What can I say, I'm a lash picker, always have been, always will be.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought some Mavala Double Lash on feelunique.com a while back to see if it would help. The idea is that you put it on your lashes every night before bed to condition and stimulate growth. I could definitely do with a bit of that, who doesn't want luscious, long and thick lashes!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I decided to put it to the test. There are a few similar products on the market ranging from £5.00 to over £100 but I didn't want to spend a bomb just in case it didn't work.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've been putting this on over night every night since my last set of lashes came off about 2weeks ago and I do think it's made a difference. My lashes didn't take anywhere near as long to return to a decent state after the fakes had come off, in fact they were back to being curl-able and looked decent with a few licks of mascara after the first go whereas usually they take over a week to return to a semi cooperative state. They also seem to be much stronger and a bit longer/thicker. Using a product like this also prompts me to remove my make up properly every night, which I must admit I have a really bad habit of not doing.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It may be coincidence, but I find that I tend to wear less mascara now that they in better condition as they don't droop as the day progresses and look much fuller with just two light coats of cheap mascara than ever before.<br />
All in all I'm a big fan of this product and at around £10 online and £13 in stores, I would recommend it as a fair priced solution to thin, brittle or ill-conditioned lashes. If you wear semi-permanent lashes every once and while, I would definitely recommend this to banish those post-falsie issues.<br />

I decided to jiggle my blog around a bit. Change the layout a bit here, mess around with the fonts a bit there, you know how it gets when you've had the same template for a while and want a refresh. Like a kind of spring clean for your corner of the internet.<br />
<br />
Whilst playing around, I decided to go all out and change the name and address of the page too. <br />
I've had this blog for ages and have kept the same name mostly out of sentimentality - because the friend who chose the blog title unfortunately died in a car accident a few months after I started the blog - and I couldn't really bring myself to change the name, soppy huh!<br />
But, it's been two years now, and it really just needed a refresh so I changed it all and off I went thinking I'd got it all sorted. Turns out it wasn't sorted at all so it couldn't go live when I planned it to, oopsie!<br />
<br />
But I got there in the end and here we are. New blog name, new fonts and a new start for my tired little blog. I'd love your feedback on it all so let me know what you think in the comments. I hope you all enjoy :)<br />

Hey Lovelies!</div>
If you follow this blog on bloglovin or through blogger directly, you need to know that I'm changing the blogs url.<br />
For some reason I can't just edit the blog information on Bloglovin because that would be too easy, so I'm having to add a separate blog to Bloglovin. If you would like to continue following, the new url/page will be listed under my profile on bloglovin so you won't have to go too far to find it.<br />
The link to my new page is <a href="http://www.whatcaseydid.blogspot.co.uk/">www.whatcaseydid.blogspot.co.uk</a> I hope you'll join me on the new page :)<br />

<span style="text-align: start;">June should mean summer right? Yeeah it's beyond rainy and windy down south and I've taken to living in my camel boyfriend jacket and tartan scarf. I <b>should not</b> have to wear a scarf in June!</span><br />
<span style="text-align: start;">I finished uni last week and although I'm almost 100% sure I'll have to resit my exam in September I have to admit I'm glad the academic year is over. Now I can focus on planning holidays and adventures and can spend my time snapping up those </span><span style="text-align: start;">rare sunny evenings in pub gardens and</span><span style="text-align: start;"> shopping online.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: start;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: start;">I'm in dire need of shorts this year. I do own a pair but they've gotten gradually bigger over the years, well I've gotten gradually smaller, and they just look ridiculous now so I need to invest in a decent pair that actually fit. I'm also obsessing over Calvins and Adidas at the moment too so I'm going to park a few of these things on the birthday wishlist in the hope that someone gets them for me as a gift, hint hint.</span><br />

<a name='more'></a><span style="color: #444444;">In February and March, everyone I know jets off to hot, sunny destinations to catch the last of the winter sun abroad. I've never been one to follow the grain and Iceland, and notably the northern lights, has been at the top of my bucket list since the list was started. So off to the to the chilly North I went, excited for the surreal sights and petrified of the native foods. Nothing disappointed.</span><br />

<span style="color: #444444;">It's taken me so long to get around to putting this post together but nevertheless it's done and I'm so excited to share my trip with you. We decided on a 5 night trip based in Reykjavik but really would have been fine doing one of the three night bundles you see on Wowcher and similar offer sites as we managed to cram quite a bit into each of the days we were there. One thing I will say is Iceland is pricey, either through the cost of the excursions or in hiring a car to do it yourself, everything is really quite spread out due to Iceland being such a vast country so don't expect to be doing it on a really tight budget. That being said it wasn't as expensive as people had made out before we went but the cost of living is generally higher than here in the UK.</span><br />
<span style="color: #444444;">That's the boring bit out of the way, now for all of the exciting things we did to fill our time in the land of fire and ice.</span><br />
<span style="color: #444444;">I would recommend everything we did on our trip and I've listed each of the places we visited to give you some inspiration. If you are thinking of going to Iceland it's worth bearing in mind that the city is quite small so it is a case of going out of the city a fair bit to see the natural attractions in the south and west of the island.</span><br />

<span style="color: #444444;">The best, and luckiest, thing by far was seeing the northern lights on the first try. We went to Iceland the day after one of the biggest winter storms the island had seen in a decade and every night was forecast for thick cloud and very low solar activity. There was one night just out of the blue that was suddenly set for really clear skies and the solar activity was okay so we booked on the trip, trying not to get our hopes up due to the pot luck nature of seeing the lights but a few hours before we were due to be picked up it was announced that there was going to a HUGE solar storm and the activity levels rocketed. We could see the green lights dancing above the city lights before the sun had even set so knew we were in for a great show and we got it! My camera wasn't quite up to getting photos of them but it did the job in getting me a keepsake. There's no words I could use to describe how utterly amazing and surreal it was.</span><br />

<span style="color: #444444;">We had a night out in the city, drank hot chocolate from a sky bar overlooking the Reykjavik lagoon, climbed and trekked all sorts of terrains, watched the sunset from behind a waterfall, got faces full of sulphur-smelling water and steam at the geysers and watched the Aurora Borealis dance across the night sky, as well as taking a dip in a geothermal pool while it snowed. All in all, I'd say it's definitely worth visiting Iceland.</span><br />

It's safe to say studying at uni while working full time is literally killing me right now. I honestly don't know how people breeze through it.</div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
So much uni work and work work has made me pretty absent from the blogsphere for the last couple of months and has made me really quite ill over the last few days but I decided to take back some time and write a few posts as a kind of stress relief, bit of me time is definitely needed!</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My final assessment is on 26th May so this wishlist is all about the things I'm thinking of getting myself as a reward for all the studying (and feeling crap!). I've also decided to take Andy away for his birthday this year, partly because he's really hard to buy for and partly because it would be nice to spend a weekend away from Folkestone for a bit rather than spending the weekend in the same old pubs, I can't say where I'm going just yet because obviously it's a surprise, but I'll be sure to take lots of snaps and tell you all about it when I get back, it's not until July anyway so I'm sure I'll have a pre-travel haul to share with you before then.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Roll on the end of May when uni will be done for the year and I can get back to filling your blog feed with posts, for a few months anyway.</div>

The faux leather skirt is really versatile for the winter to spring transition; I'm starting to gather quite a collection of pleather skirts but this one is my current favourite from missguided.com. I've teamed it with a roll neck jumper from ASOS which is another wardrobe staple that works for so many occasions and looks.<br />
Backpack and chunky heeled Chelsea boots are my daily go-to at the moment and I think these two items are up there with my best buys in a very long time.</div>

I've been after a camel coat for a few months and in a frenzy to find something to shield me from the grim British weather on Saturday morning I found this long lost grey number hiding under all of my parkas and duffle coats. It's a bit inspector gadget and must be about 7 or 8 years old but I have to say I'm really glad I didn't throw it out all those years ago, I love the big collar!<br />

<div style="text-align: start;">
It really has felt like Spring the last week or so, hasn't it? Blue skies and not having to wear a massive coat with a million layers underneath makes me VERY happy; I'm so ready for thinner jackets and no hoods to protect freshly styled hair! Saying that, I will be flying out to Reykjavik in today which is VERY VERY snowy and cold right now so I haven't managed to escape the winter wear just yet... Iceland though. Excited is an understatement.</div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
Its been a busy month for travel planning; Andy won employee of the year at his company with a prize of £3000 worth of travel vouchers! So in addition to planning for the Iceland trip, I've also been massively wanderlusting over the distant shores we might visit. Thinking Cuba, Costa Rica, Ecuador or the Far East, there are so many choices.</div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
That kind of explains why there is not one, but two Triangl bikinis on the wishlist this month. I finally bought a dupe (for Iceland) and I think it looks, well I probably shouldn't leave the house in it put it that way. I opted for the Ollie style but got pink bottoms with the Tilly Sunburst top and it. is. skimpy. And I know everyone and their cat on Instagram wear them like that, they're not known for being modest, but I just don't know if I can bring myself to do it. The new styles/colours seem to be a bit more supportive for the bigger chested girl so I reckon they would be a good bet.</div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
I'm desperate for more pleather and ripped balck jeans and true to form the Olivia Burton watch is making yet another appearance.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
I got the Bene<i>f</i>it skincare travel set for Christmas and realised today that I haven't shared it with you; I'm so out of touch with posting.<br />
I haven't tried all of the products yet because I'm trying to use up other things before I start, and inevitably get hooked, on new products. The Porefessional primer doens't actually come in the set (sorry guys!) but I was sent a new sample and felt compelled to include it. I've used <i>Porefessional</i> and the <i>It's Potent</i> eye cream before after receiving samples from Birchbox and I LOVE both, I've also recently received a sample of High Beam but I've yet to use it because I'm a little bit scared of make up, sounds weird doesn't it, a beauty blogger scared of using make-up? Its only new products that aren't in my current routine, but yeah, I don't get it either.<br />
Anyway, I've used the it's potent sample every single day since... October? So it's lasted months and I know this one will last me ages too.<br />
<br />
The packaging for Bene<i>f</i>it products is so pretty and I love having the whole range sat on my shelf. I did used to think that they were a bit all packing and no punch but what I'll say to anyone with that same stance is give them a try before you write them off. I so nearly missed out on some really great products by thinking that they wouldn't live up to the hype.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On top of how lovely they look and how lovely they make my skin look, this set is entirely travel sized so I can keep up my skincare routine when travelling which is often one of the first things that goes out of the window due to hand luggage restrictions on liquids. Perfect for my trip to Iceland next month!<br />
<br />
I think the set came from Debenhams and it was only £14.50 with a free Posietint lipbalm so you really can't go wrong. This is ideal for trying the range out before splurging on full size products and would also make a pretty cute gift.<br />

Corrrr its been a while hasn't it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Its been a manic few months and the mayhem is set to continue for a little while longer or at least until my exams are out of the way.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I forgot to actually tell you whats been happening lately, that's how busy it's been! Well, I landed myself a new job back in September, a great job, and part of my contract is to go back to uni and do a level 7 professional HR qualification. So I've had assessments and seminars as well as full time work and it's been A LOT, but it will be worth it by the time the course is done because the prospects are awesome! Its been an exciting few months, and whereas before I would whinge about not having the money to fund the posts I wanted to write (code for 'clothes I wanted to buy') now I don't have the time to write posts about the things I buy #firstworldproblems.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Looking at my wardrobe I've realised that my clothes are just black, white and grey, and although there's nothing wrong with that I'm starting to crave a bit of colour. Enter <i><b>that</b></i> Motel dress and the floral tapestry shirt.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm off setting the major monochrome with red lips at the moment as I feel that excuses my grayscale looks so I'm constantly on the hunt for new shades and deep red is next on my list to add to the collection.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas & New Year. There are some exciting things lined up for 2015 and hopefully there'll be plenty of posts along the way.</div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram then you may have seen that I recently visited Dublin on a long weekend break. Upon my return I discovered that London City Airport have been running a project which as you may have guessed from the title is called <b>#NoFilter</b>. The idea is to encourage and promote using photos in their truest form, without adding those ever popular Instagram filters or using editing tools from similar apps. The key aim of the project is to get back to the root of photography, capturing the notion that the ever-photographed travel destinations are just as beautiful without the filters.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: inherit;">This is the third </span>instalment<span style="font-family: inherit;"> in LCY's project with each chapter focussing on a different city; they've been to Madrid, explored Switzerland and are now taking to the Emerald Isle with </span><b style="font-family: inherit;">#NoFilter Dublin</b><span style="font-family: inherit;">. The brilliant Monica Stott of </span><a href="http://thetravelhack.com/" rel="nofollow" style="font-family: inherit;">The Travel Hack</a><span style="font-family: inherit;"> has teamed up with London City Airport for this leg of the adventure given her love of the Irish city. If you want to check out more about the project you can see all of the details at </span><a href="http://londoncityairport.com/home/page/dublin-photo" rel="nofollow" style="font-family: inherit;">http://londoncityairport.com/home/page/dublin-photo</a><span style="font-family: inherit;"> and I highly recommend checking out Monica's page for some great travel inspiration.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I've been a hopeless wanderluster for so so long and I'm so lucky to finally have the opportunity to visit some of my wishlist destinations, it's only right that I pass on my experiences with you, my wonderful readers :)</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Some of you may have explored my other blog www.bestplaceiveneverbeen.com which is linked at the top of this page; if you fancy a read click the 'Travel' link in the header. <i>Best Place I've Never Been</i> is a wishlist travel blog through which I channel all of my travel and adventure desires and when I first started writing on the site Dublin was right up there with places I <i>needed</i> to visit. </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Seeing as it's such a short flight from London at only an hour long it seemed silly not to jump at the chance to finally see the city.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
I've always been keen on photography and my favourite way of capturing beautiful scenes on my travels is through my Polaroid. It's an expensive hobby without a doubt with film costing between £10-£20 depending on what camera you opt for but, trust me, it's worth it. The image below isn't the ideal portrayal of how great Polaroid photography can be but the great thing about Polaroid is that there are no second tries; you're literally freezing the moment that made you want to get your camera out in the first place rather than taking a bunch of photos and choosing the best one to share later on. Polaroid captures the most authentic side of the scene you're shooting and I love that you can't add filters.<br />

Okay, Polaroid rant over, back to the #NoFilter project.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Stepping off of the airport transfer coach onto the famous O'Connell Street, the first thing that caught my eye was the Monument of Light which is a spire marking the very centre point of the city. As you can see from the photo, the weather was pretty grim and it pretty much stayed like this for the majority of our stay, but this actually added to those first moments because the thick fog meant you can't judge how high the spire stands as you can't see the very top.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQDti9QKSAgdXXyiQm6N8KmUx6oDFp4aoFl0Sdb75A-hkbOjcWeSGNJtMNU2kIlc6DWmnlsF8p3lFozmEIo9FqWOiIi_T01HGBfb8pf_d8LOZ1CJeP-v0Mdh2gXNonoX6Wk_8Yd938ZE3-/s1600/IMG_2174%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQDti9QKSAgdXXyiQm6N8KmUx6oDFp4aoFl0Sdb75A-hkbOjcWeSGNJtMNU2kIlc6DWmnlsF8p3lFozmEIo9FqWOiIi_T01HGBfb8pf_d8LOZ1CJeP-v0Mdh2gXNonoX6Wk_8Yd938ZE3-/s1600/IMG_2174%5B1%5D.JPG" height="320" width="243" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Dublin undoubtedly has some great sites but my favourite thing about this city is exploring different pubs and stumbling upon some traditional Irish gems. The famous Temple Bar is one of Dublin's' most well known attractions and it delivered some awesome music and atmospheres. One of my utter favourites was the Auld Dubliner which we literally couldn't tear ourselves away from due to the great vibe and even better musician who will forever be referred to as 'The Jake' (we didn't know his surname and was more talented than any other Jake I've met). I loved going outside of the touristy Temple Bar in search of the most traditional and oldest pubs possible, loving the local vibe that came with it. I won't lie, I spent a lot of time in pubs on this trip but don't worry, it wasn't falling over drunk kind of drinking. The thing I noticed above all of the laughing, chatting, singing and dancing was that not one person had their phone out. Not. One. Take a trip to most pubs and bars in London and you'll see hoards of people on their smartphones, engrossed in the most recent Twitter update or Facebook post but Dublin is worlds away from that and it's great! Going for a social drink is actually, well, social.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Off the beaten track, great pubs kept on coming with one of the most impressive being The Stag's Head and yes, that is a real stag's head above the bar. Polished granite tables and iron chandeliers made this Victorian pub particularly memorable and with bars across three levels I'm only disappointed I didn't go back later in the evening to check out it's night scene.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The trip wasn't a total booze-fest though. We did a lot of exploring and checked out some of the recommended sights so as not to miss anything. Dublin Castle and the brilliant Guinness Storehouse were among the spots and Trinity College was a particularly rainy addition to our adhoc tour.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #444444;">Dublin was, without doubt, best at night. Walks along the River Liffey after spending the evening in a toasty authentic pub sipping beer was definitely the perfect way to round off days in Dublin.</span><br />

<span style="color: #444444; font-family: inherit;"></span></div>
<span style="color: #444444;">All photos featured in this post are unfiltered and taken with an iPhone 5c (with the exception of the Polaroid image).</span><br />
<span style="color: #444444;">Below are my key tips to making the most of taking photos on your phone/iPad:</span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Give some thought to the composition of your photo. Centre isn't always the way to go and sometimes it's more appealing to have the main focal point off centre so that the photo leads into the subject. Think of it like reading a book, left to right.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Tap your screen a few times on different aspects of the photo prior to shooting as this will change the tone of the image. You may find that focussing in the centre will set the contrast at one level, whereas focussing on something in the fore or background will alter it to a better light composition which means you won't have to worry about parts of your image being washed out or underexposed.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Panorama is your friend. It's a really great setting on most phones, perfect for cityscapes or street scenes to capture as much of the moment as possible.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Flash isn't always your friend. Turn that thing off, especially for night time photography, Selfies suit a flash. A pretty landscape more often than not doesn't. Give that contrast trick a go instead.</span></li>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="color: #444444;">If you're looking for inspiration for your next city break then I suggest heading to Monica's or, London City Airport's, Twitter page to see all of the blog posts about Dublin being published over the next few days.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #444444;">I can't wait to go away again so I can share my adventures with you!</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
You've probably noticed that Chelsea boots are everywhere at the minute. Black ankle boots look to be the shoe of the season yet again and are quite rightly getting a lot of hype. Every other picture on my Instagram seems to be black boots just lately (and food of course)! Naturally, I had to jump on the bandwagon and everytime I put these on I ask myself why I didn't buy a pair years ago. They're so practical and cosy and I can go for countryside rambles without getting wet feet or worrying that my shoes will get ruined. Chelsea boots are well and truly 'get stuck in!' boots and if I'm completely honest my favourite thing is that they enable me to wear huge cable knit socks regardless of whether they work with my outfit. I sound like an old farmer...</div>

I've been lusting over gemstone jewellery for some time now and finally gave in and purchased a couple of crystal point necklaces last week online.<br />
<a name='more'></a> The first store I bought from was <b><a href="http://druzydreams.bigcartel.com/" target="_blank">Druzy Dreams</a></b>; I opted for the amethyst pendant necklace although there are a few different crystals available to chose from.<br />
<div>
Druzy Dreams have a wide selection of jewellery available on the site and offer worldwide shipping. In addition to being quite well priced, they send a free crescent moon choker with every purchase over £10 and being that my item was £14, I didn't have to work hard to get a second piece in my order completely free.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAq25qwMnPti17uR8cxNkPXvcz1Jr6SRCFz1-ZcmPQCe62hWh-iPeUlO2vaXI3RHSLT5tcz9tyD7IMnQOxeqyVsll_NJyKhSgRf52w6DiH704P3Czj0rBQ9tm92MF14G2ijDPCorjpzgDW/s1600/IMG_1893%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAq25qwMnPti17uR8cxNkPXvcz1Jr6SRCFz1-ZcmPQCe62hWh-iPeUlO2vaXI3RHSLT5tcz9tyD7IMnQOxeqyVsll_NJyKhSgRf52w6DiH704P3Czj0rBQ9tm92MF14G2ijDPCorjpzgDW/s1600/IMG_1893%5B1%5D.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnQXdSNzBW2xOSQAGazsrbLjAfOFiCBvS3EVzmxIeRpOKWFjl5VtXTwEdnsXrcydh3aWe1uCbb7nAyP6k3D_ywLzm1WOX3c42o7KGB9xNGNuFyDhNicRpfeXG6Wf9Ekoi33t4gWpL7f0qF/s1600/IMG_1845%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnQXdSNzBW2xOSQAGazsrbLjAfOFiCBvS3EVzmxIeRpOKWFjl5VtXTwEdnsXrcydh3aWe1uCbb7nAyP6k3D_ywLzm1WOX3c42o7KGB9xNGNuFyDhNicRpfeXG6Wf9Ekoi33t4gWpL7f0qF/s1600/IMG_1845%5B1%5D.JPG" height="249" width="320" /></a></div>
</div>
<div>
My second item, the green fluorite necklace, comes from <b><a href="http://www.bloodmoonjewellery.com/products" target="_blank">Blood Moon Jewellery</a></b> and they're pieces are of a similar style. Again, they have a great selection and are really reasonably priced; this fluorite gemstone necklace was only £12 but the necklace without the charm is £10.</div>
<div>
I absolutely adore this stone, it's so different from the standard amethyst and rose quartz numbers that will usually be found on any and every jewellery site like these. Don't get me wrong I love all gemstones equally but the green fluorite is a particular favourite of mine.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div>
<div>
Now, I made a purchase from <b><a href="http://www.chxrmed.bigcartel.com/products" target="_blank">Chxrmed Jewellery</a></b> but I can't show you what it is because it's a gift for a friend. Maybe I'll add a photo to the end of the post as an edit after I've it's been opened. But for now here's the cute arrow wrap ring I got from them.<br />

This month I received my third Birchbox and although I'm still quite pleased with their selection of samples Im going to unsubscribe so I can try a different company, just for a bit of variety ya know.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a>This month is a goodun though with yet another Bene<i>f</i>it sample and some great extras in keeping with the 'happy days' theme, like a photo clip which is now on my desk at work.<br />
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In my first box I received a beauty blender as a free gift and this month I received another as one of my five products! I've yet to try out the first one but everyone raves about it so I have high hopes and at £25 a pop, I think it's safe to say I've got my money's worth with the Birchbox subscriptions.</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've decided not to review the entire box this month. Primarily, this is because I can't use some of the products I received so it would just be photos, which in the grand scheme of things isn't really that useful.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Instead I'm going to choose just one product and give you the low down on it and it's probably not too difficult to guess what I've gone for...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmHWiMJHx0t-Z1hJSHKs0DgnJWmUfazzxBTsGQ3WXhB553VOQfv8x8k8QFRoiCtVCzwsu-OOWI9VWky_TgIVY12J7BGfndHlWKRJW0vVgvAhLnJxpEk-uAhoC5I6EFAna3CIPLs5QMzHAy/s1600/IMG_1800%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmHWiMJHx0t-Z1hJSHKs0DgnJWmUfazzxBTsGQ3WXhB553VOQfv8x8k8QFRoiCtVCzwsu-OOWI9VWky_TgIVY12J7BGfndHlWKRJW0vVgvAhLnJxpEk-uAhoC5I6EFAna3CIPLs5QMzHAy/s1600/IMG_1800%5B1%5D.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is definitely my favourite product this month, As I mentioned, yet another Bene<i>f</i>it product to try out and I do really like it. I've always avoided the brand as I didn't see that they could really live up to the hype but I'm starting to believe that they're not just pretty packaging and cleverly named products.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
'It's Potent' eye cream retails at £25.50 but I haven't used it enough to say whether I would fork out that much for it. To be fair though, I rarely fork out that much for anything!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It claims to give eyes some TLC by fading those pesky dark circles using an array of active ingredients known to increase micro-circulation, including cocoa extract. Alongside that there is a handy helping of loquat extract to fight free radicals and a peptide complex to restore the skin under your eye. Add in a cheeky serving of apple extract to up your collagen and you should be well on your way to improving fine lines, creases and brightness.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Long days and late nights are definitely a feature in most of our lives and I'm absolutely not an exception. This is such an easy product to use and I genuinely do feel that it makes a difference. Whether it's a long-term difference is yet to be revealed, but in the day-to-day, I do feel like my eyes look less tired and dull. In addition to that, it doesn't smell overly manufactured like some products; it's got the perfect face product to nice smell ratio so I don't get hungry every time I use it, but I don't feel like I'm putting plant fertiliser on my face.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Along with my Pore-fessional mini, also thanks to Birchbox, I'm on my way to starting a collection of cute Bene<i>f</i>it minis that would be ideal to take away on holiday, I want to save them up just for that reason, but they're too good to stop using!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Have you used many Bene<i>f</i>it products, what are you're thoughts?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

If you have eyes, you'll have noticed that khaki is starting to make its way onto the highstreet again, I'm a big fan so, naturally, I've made some investments. Alongside these items fitting the seasons colour trend, they're also a nod to some summer styles that aren't budging for AW'14.</div>

<a name='more'></a><span style="text-align: start;">The first trend I won't be taking out of my wardrobe in autumn is sports luxe. This crepe dress is from New Look and is thin enough to wear on warmer days but also works well with a big chunky knit cardigan for those nippy evenings. The only downside to this dress is that it creases <b>really</b> easily, as you can tell from the photos, but despite that I do really love it. Midi skirts aren't going anywhere either so this pleated skirt from Missguided is ideal. It's really thick and heavy so won't blow around in winter winds and can easily be teamed with chunky knits and shirts. I've also been wearing it with vans for a more casual look.</div>

I've been holding off buying a midi skirt since they first stormed the fashion scene because I'm just not sure if they suit me. I'm still not sure, but I've adopted the 'to hell with it' attitude and am wearing it anyway. I love the material as it's so soft and comfy and am seriously considering getting another, in a different colour, for my winter work wardrobe.</div>

On a massive side note, I won a Fashion Union competition last week which was run on Instagram in collaboration with beaut blogger Nicky Houghton. Unfortunately the oufit doesn't fit (massive frowny face) but I received heels, a hat and a kimono which do fit - hooray! Both the hat and cleated platform heels are featured below.<br />
