Bourjois Beauty Haul

I've been spending again...

I definitely use blogging as an excuse to buy something when I draw up that little 'Pros & Cons' list in my mind everytime I see something I like. Does anyone else feel like they spend more since they started blogging?
Anyway, I've stayed on the high street with these buys and I think they'll be perfect for updating my beauty regime.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover | £4.99
This is without a doubt my new favourite beauty product! I want to keep changing my nail colour just so I can use it! Okay so, I have to confess, I did take a massive sniff of the bottle to see if it smelt of red fruit and vanilla as it claims and was heavily disappointed when I got a nose full of that strong nail polish remover smell and a mild headache to follow. However, after using it my nails actually do smell fruity/vanilla-y and not really horrid so I can vouch for the scent.
Essentially, this is a pot of remover-soaked sponge. You pop your finger into the pot, rub it around the sponge for a few seconds and when you remove your finger there isn't a trace of polish in sight. There was quite a bit of Bourjois bashing when this first hit the shelves because it doesn't take just '1 second' but in my experience it's 5seconds, tops, and that's still a huge improvement on rubbing for ages with the traditional cotton pad and remover.  for Bourjois, you've done me proud.

Bourjois Intense Smoky Palatte | £7.99
I recently went to an event (post to follow) and had my eyebrows tweaked by a Bourjois artist. I didn't get much done to them but they tend to look a bit gappy sometimes because they're so dark and my skin is so pale. The mua I spoke to used the liner in this palette to fill in the gaps whilst avoiding that HD brow which just doesn't suit me whatsoever, again, probably due to my very dark hair vs my pale skin. This liner looked great because it wasn't really heavy, which can sometimes be the case with targeted liners, but still made my brows look somewhat tamed. Granted it's not something I'm going to use everyday, but for nights out and those times I want to look less dishevelled, this is perfect. Being £7.99, it may also force me to use eyeshadows again as I don't want the other two shades to go completely unused.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream | £7.99
This CC eye cream was a last minute decision. I'm in Boots, there's a 3 for 2 offer on and I'm taking my time to decide but the boyfriend is next to me rapidly growing bored and agitated so I grab something quickly so I can get to the till, you all know the score.
Despite being unsure whether it was the right decision, I'm actually quite pleased with the product. I've always used Collection 2000 under eye illuminator in an attempt to conceal my dark circles and even out my skin tone a little but I've never been overly impressed with the result. I convinced myself that I had really dark circles and 'no product can help me!', I'm such a defeatist. However, changing brand seemed like a lot of effort and I don't earn enough to delve into the YSL realms for a really good product so I stuck with what I knew. After using this for a few days I've thrown the Collection product out. Turns out a colour corrector was just what I needed without even really knowing it.

The weather has grown more and more hideous over the last few days but I have some new outfits to show you so hopefully they'll be up at the weekend. I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday!

  2. I love the idea of that nail varnish remover. It's such a pain to remove nail varnish it has gotten to the point where I just don't wear it anymore! I made my own (with the same idea) a while back but it wasn't too fab. I might have to try Bourjois' one though - I'm sure it's better than a homemade one!

    1. I wish I was that creative! I did think the Bourjois one would deteriorate quite quickly but I'm pleased to say it's still going strong :)
